Guard Card Certification Training
STEP 1: Attend 8-hour in-person Guard Card training and undergo a Live Scan background check (available during class). Online courses are no longer available per state regulations.
Complete an Additional 32 Hours of Training
STEP 2: Complete 32 hours of training within six months of Guard Card issuance (for a total of 40 hours)

BECOME A LICENSED SECURITY GUARD IN CALIFORNIA
To work as a security officer in California, you must COMPLETE THE 8-HOUR GUARD CARD CARD TRAINING IN-PERSON, as required by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS).
Online courses are no longer available per state regulations.
